Biography

I am a Health Care eLearning developer living in Pocatello, Idaho. An Adobe Certified Professional Captivate Specialist,  and offer provider training , at-the-elbow support and activation Project Management.

I am a Credentialed Trainer of Epic OpTime, Cadence, Orders, and Ambulatory Provider.

I  have 5+ years of experience using Allscripts Paragon Clinician Hub. I was the developer of Physician Documentation templates across Ardent’s America’s Division from the Fall of 2016 through February 2019.

I have created 100+ Health Care related web-based interactive e-learning courses,  and have written and developed several other training videos and education documentation.

I have trained application end users and supported dozens of Epic Activations throughout the United States and Canada.

In May – March 2019,  I Consulted for Optimum HIT for provider training and personalization of Epic and provided at the elbow support for the application activation at RUSH Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, Tower Health, Reading PA., Boulder Community Hospital, Boulder CO. and Hartford Rushford Ambulatory Behavioral Health Center.

I served as the Director of Training for the HCi Group and have developed a series of eLearning courses and educational video productions for Queensland Health Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Telus Health, Integris Health, University of Alabama and University of San Diego.

I have 18 years of clinical experience in both medical offices and hospitals, performing duties as a Medical Assistant, Monitor Tech, 12 lead EKG Tech, Surgery & Recovery Room Orderly, Dark Room Technician and as a Nursing Assistant. In 1983-1984, I studied Cardiovascular Anatomy & Physiology and completed a 14-month Echocardiography technician program.  I am currently certified in Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation.

Medical IT projects have included working on the development of “Renal Touch”, a software application program. Responsibilities included video production, narrating, recording, and editing several hours of written technical medical scripts. I have served as VP of Technology for the East Idaho Chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD), and have developed several medical practice websites.

Prior to returning to the Medical field in 2013, I spent over 25 years in broadcasting and multimedia production and more recently, spent two years teaching secondary education. I formerly held an Idaho State Education Credential with certifications and endorsements in Information Communication Technology, Graphic/Printing Communication, and Television Production/Broadcasting.

I have lived in Pocatello since 2005 with my wife Kelly and have two Springer Spaniels, Jack, and Chloe.   I play bass guitar and trumpet, enjoy hiking, fishing, and boating, and have snowboarded professionally.  In 1998 & 1999 I competed (unsuccessfully) in two Boarder-Cross world championships.

In the summer I can be found at the ballpark enjoying baseball and working as the Vice President of Communications and announcer for the Gate City Grays Baseball club. In the fall and Spring I announce woman’s sports (volleyball, soccer, basketball & softball) for Idaho State University.
